New Student Checklist

We are excited for you to join us for this Academic year

Now that you have applied to Lead Institute, you are one step closer to reaching your degree. However, keeping track of your application materials can be tricky. To make this process easier, we've created a handy checklist for you.

Please note that items below must be completed before the first-day of classes.

  • Assess Your Skills

As you begin your education at Lead Institute, it’s important that you start in the right classes. We will carefully evaluate your transcripts, and CSEC grades, to see if you are exempt from taking all or some of our remedial courses.

  • Meet with an Advisor

To prepare for registration, an advisor will work with you to plan your first year of classes. Make an appointment with an advisor.

  • Register for Classes

Once you have registered and scheduled your classes, please be sure to thoroughly review your final registrations prior to the start of all classes.

  • Pay Your Tuition

The Institute offers payment plans so you can spread out your tuition payments over the course of the school year. To sign up for a payment plan simply indicate your preferred option on the application form, call or email your preference.

Tuition and fees can also be paid in person at the Lead Institute Office by credit card, money order, cash or cheque

  • Get Ready For Class
Access your student email for important college messages.
Check and download your class schedule.
Attend the new student orientation (schedule and venue will be emailed)
  • Show Up for Classes
Classes are either held at our Madrelle campus or online.
Check your class schedule for dates and times.

CSEC Remedial Courses:

  • English
The English course explores receptively and expressively three core literary modes, Drama, Poetry, and Prose Fiction, to become aware of the many functions and purposes of language.
  • Mathematics
The Mathematics syllabus explains general and unifying concepts that facilitate the study of Mathematics as a coherent subject rather than as a set of unrelated topics.
  • Accounts
The Accounts syllabus helps students to develop skills and a general understanding of a range of theoretical and practical techniques used in accounting.
  • Economics
The Economics Syllabus introduces relevant economic concepts and principles that will provide the foundation necessary for a proper understanding of how economies work.
  • Chemistry
The CSEC Chemistry Syllabus allows students to work individually and with others in practical, field and interactive activities that are related to theoretical concepts.
  • Biology
Biology seeks to understand the organisation of the organic world. The Syllabus places greater emphasis on the application of scientific concepts and principles.
  • Physics
Physics is a fundamental scientific discipline and is concerned with systems, laws, models, principles and theories that explain the physical behaviour of our world.
  • Geography
The Geography Syllabus is organised under four main sections, namely, Map Reading and Field Study; Natural Systems; Human Systems and Human-Environment Systems.
